The ‘Armor of God’ Daily Prayer

CHRISTIANS, are you being attacked by Satan on a more regular basis?  Are you feeling overwhelmed at times with angry, bad, and/or depressing thoughts? Satan will come at us from all directions with his deceptive practices; especially when we are trying to do our assigned work for the Lord’s glory.  At the height of using our Spiritual gifts from the Lord, Satan will intervene in our thought process to distract us from doing this work. This is part of the continuous battle called ‘spiritual warfare‘ and it is being fought 24 hours a day.  This battle began in the garden of Eden and will continue until Satan is thrown into the lake of fire.

There are two things you need to know to conquer these attacks.  The first is that we have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of our minds and hearts. There isn’t anything in all of creation more powerful that God. The second is that the Bible teaches us to tell Satan one or both of the following: “The Lord rebuke you, Satan”, and/or “Get behind me, Satan – be gone”.  He will flee from us after hearing these words from Scripture.

Here is a prayer that I say on a, daily, basis that should help you with this constant spiritual battle of the mind.  Say this prayer, once a day, for two weeks and notice the change in your peace of mind. This prayer is based upon the Apostle Paul’s metaphor regarding the physical armor of the Roman soldier and our spiritual battle gear.

“I wear the Helmet of Salvation to filter my thoughts. I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness to protect my heart. I am protected by the Shield of Faith from the flaming missiles of Satan. I carry the Sword of the Holy Spirit, the Word of the living God. I am belted with Truth and Readiness, to glorify you, Holy Father, while walking in the Gospel of peace.”

I hope this simple prayer helps you! It helps me. Please view my March 5, 2016 blog that explains this metaphor and prayer in more detail.

UNBELIEVERS, none of this will help you until you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Ask Jesus to come into your life, today!  Your life will be turned inside-out in a way that you never imagined.  When you begin to look at life through the eyes of God, ‘everything‘ will start to make sense!!!

Blessings in the Lord’s unlimited grace,

Debby Mac Manes, a disciple of Jesus Christ <><
