People have said things like, “if I had known what I know now” or “hindsight is 20-20”, and those sayings are true. But, most non-Christian and, sadly, many Christian people are talking about, worldly, development and street-smart skills.
It’s one thing to be clever, but quite another to be, Spiritually, gifted with wisdom, insight, and discernment. This state of mind can, only, be developed by learning and applying God’s truths to our, daily, lives so that “the truth will set you (us) free”. For those of us who put Jesus Christ first and foremost in this life, we are so very blessed each and every day. We can appreciate all of God’s blessings; from a little bird singing to the vast and incomprehensible galaxies of splendor. Our souls are at peace because our lives are, willfully, lifted up to our Creator for His omnipotent guidance in all that we say and do. By reading and studying God’s Word, He reveals Himself, His plans, and His purposes for this temporary life on earth. Our looking-glass becomes so very different from the world’s point of view.
God didn’t promise us a life without trials and persecution. The, only, way God can grow us up and into the Spiritual image of Jesus Christ is through times of trouble and tribulation. It is during the very bad and worst of times that most people will turn to God and seek His help, guidance, and support. We need to understand that we will not be, Spiritually, mature in Jesus until we reach the other side of eternity. However, for those of us who have Jesus’ Holy Spirit dwelling inside our hearts and minds, we have His eternal power to overcome and defeat Satan and his demonic cohorts. Spiritual warfare is all around us whether we know it or not. Satan is fighting to destroy every soul who is born into this world.
There are many unbelievers who think that when they die, they are just gone! Satan has convinced these unsuspecting souls that they disappear or evaporate into thin air; whether they believe in Satan or not. In this temporary life, our physical bodies deteriorate and die, but our Spirit continues to blossom into maturity and lives. This is the irony of eternal life. Scientists claim that the ‘spirit’ cannot die. It is transformed into another state of being. Believers understand this to be true because the Bible teaches this concept. Believers will be transformed into an immortal state; just like Jesus Christ.
We don’t die, folks. God tells us that we will, all, live forever. But … here’s the deal. There are, only, two places in eternity. Our eternal life can be true living as heirs, with Jesus Christ, of a new heaven and a new earth. We will, finally, live in the presence of our Lord and Savior, and be complete with every blessing of God. His new creation will be ours to enjoy forever. His incomprehensible holiness, love, joy, peace, and glory await His disciples. If people choose to ignore God’s merciful plan of repentance, redemption, and reconciliation through Jesus Christ, then they, along with Satan, will spend eternity in ‘unimaginable horror’ within the gates of hell! This is the destiny of sinful people who choose not to see, hear, and obey Holy God. A great number of lost people in this world don’t want to be accountable to God. Whether they realize it or not, they are being accountable to Satan, the father of lies and master of deceit.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, now is the time to ask Him to come into your life and save your eternal soul. Secure your eternal destiny before it is too late. We are not promised our next breath!
With eternal thankfulness to our Father through His Son, Jesus Christ, and His indwelling Holy Spirit.
