Blessings and Tribulations

God breathes life into His creation. This is an individual’s very first blessing. The next most important blessing to receive is God’s eternal calling to learn about His Son, Jesus Christ, understand what He did for us at the cross, and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. The timing of when each of us learn, understand, and, truly, accept Jesus and His free gift of eternal life, partly, determines the shorter or longer road to Spiritual maturity. The Spiritual road we travel is filled with testing, discipline, trials, and blessings to ‘grow us up’ and into the Spiritual image of Jesus Christ. This lifetime process is called sanctification. Without suffering in this life, pride would abound and become our god, we would believe in our own strength and abilities, and we wouldn’t feel the need to turn to God or acknowledge Him in any way. Sadly, this is how the unbelieving world has lived since the beginning of time.

One of the most important things we need to understand is that whatever happens to us in this life is, either, planned or allowed to happen by the Lord; based upon His will for our lives, and our ‘free will‘ to choose. The choices we make have consequences!  (I testify to you that there are ‘no’ accidents in life and there is ‘no such thing’ as luck!) The Lord is in control of His creation; which is everything seen and unseen.

When believers step off the Spiritual path to His Heart, our Lord will discipline us, in varying degrees, until we turn back to Him. He will not lose any of His children, and He will never let the evil one snatch us out of His Hand. Remember, the Lord’s Holy Spirit lives inside of every believer, and He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)  Our Lord sends His guardian angels to minister to us. (Heb 1:14)  He, fully, equips His own for the spiritual battles that take place throughout our lifetime.

We hear criticism from unbelievers and weak faith from believers who say some things like this: “Where is God and why did He let this happen? If He is a loving God, why do we have so much hurt, pain, suffering, and death? Why did He take my loved one? Why am I sick? Why is this world the way it is?” These questions are asked by many who have not read, studied, or understood the Scriptures.

Our Omniscient (all knowing), Omnipotent (all powerful), and Omnipresent (ever present) Holy God gives us the ability to grow in wisdom and insight that helps to understand the why’s in life. Over a 1,500 year period, God breathed His inspiration into 40 different authors to pen His Prophetic Word for each generation to read. He wants us to learn about who He is, His unconditional love, His unlimited grace and mercy, His creation, How and why He allowed sin to enter the world, His commandments and laws of obedience, His perfect system of justice, His plan of repentance, redemption and salvation, His long suffering patience, His plans and purposes for our lives, His first and second advent, His warnings and prophecies from the beginning of time to the end of the ages, and His future plans of a New Heaven and a New Earth. God has shared, with us, everything that, He feels, we need to know and understand. Humanly speaking, we are on a need-to-know basis, and we should be, forever thankful and humbled for what He has allowed to be revealed.

Remember, He is the Potter; we are the clay. When the Apostle Paul was caught up to the third heaven, he told us that there are ‘inexpressible words’ which are not allowed to be heard by man, until we meet the Lord on the other side of eternity. (2 Cor 12:4) I believe this is something that mankind could not handle in his mortal human state. We cannot begin to imagine the supernatural revelation of all that He has planned for us since the foundation of the world!

The Lord created us for a loving fellowship with Himself, and He wants that eternal fellowship to be a free and willing choice for each one of His children. He wants us to draw near to Him, freely; just like, earthly, parents want their children to love, obey, and come to them by their own free will. Demanding a child’s love defeats the entire purpose and meaning of true ‘unconditional’ love. If anything, this type of atmosphere will create resentment and hatred in our children’s hearts.

The Lord created us with a yearning for Himself that needs to be fulfilled. This fulfillment can, only, be achieved by allowing Jesus the Christ to live inside our hearts and minds. Unfortunately, a lot of people try to fill this yearning with, worldly, pleasures and desires. Drugs and alcohol are two of Satan’s biggest lies to satisfy a deep void in life. Anything other than Jesus is a temporary fix to escape reality until the ‘high’ soon wears off. An eternal and inexpressible ‘contentment’ fills any void within the innermost depths of our soul when we allow Jesus to come into our life and become our Lord and Savior.

Because every believer is on a different plateau in their walk with Jesus Christ, we need each other for teaching, fellowship, exhortation, and support. The way to, truly, know our Savior and let Him live His life through us is to read and study His Word, daily. Only then, will we start to apply His gifts of knowledge, wisdom, insight, and understanding to our lives. The Lord gave us three commands: to love Him with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind, to love one another as He loved us, and to spread His timeless ‘Truths’ throughout the entire world. To live our life ‘His way’ will allow us to remain steadfast in our faith, escape the enemy and his lies, and live the very best life possible.

The most important decision you will make in this life is your choice to accept and follow Jesus Christ which leads to eternal life, or not accept Him which leads to eternal destruction. You need to understand that there is no spiritual death and hell is very real. Hell is the exact opposite of everything holy. For example, Jesus is Light. Hell is pitch black and evil. Can you, even, imagine living in total darkness and pure evil for eternity?

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10-11 (fear means reverence)

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6

With thankfulness to our Father through His Son, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ name,

Debby Mac Manes, disciple of Jesus Christ <><
