The Son of Man

Jesus called Himself, the Son of Man. He is the ‘perfect’ Son of God and Son of Man. He was, totally, sinless and His Spirit dwelt in a mortal body from the chosen line of David. This was to fulfill the prophecies of and the promises to the old testament saints. Jesus purged Himself of all His supernatural powers when He stepped into time from eternity past; known as the incarnation. He obeyed the Father’s every command and relied, solely, on the Father’s power within Himself to finish the Father’s work. Jesus shows us how we are suppose to live in perfect harmony with the Father and one another.

Before sin entered the world, Adam and Eve lived in heaven on earth and walked with God. As we grow in our faith, we are being sanctified (set apart as holy) into the image of Jesus. We have Jesus living on the inside of us and we have His power to overcome any obstacle; if we, truly, allow Him to work in our lives.

For those of us who are seasoned Christians and for all new Christians, let us not forget that when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we, also, accept Him as the Lord, High Priest, and King of our lives. We, immediately, are given the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. Our lives should be, willingly, given over to Him, so that He can work ‘through us’ and be glorified. Jesus purchased us with His blood. We should no longer be living for ourselves. Jesus owns us because He redeemed us. Our sin debt (for past, present, and future sins) was paid in full at the cross. Because the wages of sin is death, Jesus took all of our sins and became our ‘substitute’ to die on a cruel Roman cross. We are, now, justified and reconciled to Holy God, through Jesus Christ, which means we have been acquitted from the penalty of death, and can, once again, stand in the presence of Holy God. Jesus is our Advocate!

With His power and Lordship, we are changed so completely and profoundly, that Jesus refers to this radical change as being “born again”. We change the way we think, the way we talk, the way we look at life, the total way that we live our lives. As you read your Bible, the Holy Spirit will teach you all ‘truths’ as revealed by God to us, so that we can get to know Him, understand His ways, and obey His will for our lives. The God of all creation has a purpose and a plan for each one of us. He has the very best for us if we trust Him. Dr. Charles Stanley has a famous quotation from his grandfather: “Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.”  Amen!

With thankfulness to our Father through His Son, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ name,

Debby Mac Manes, disciple of Jesus Christ <><
